This would definitely have to be my wonderful husband! After diligently applying for all sorts of new positions and departments within Discover Financial Services he got the job he really wanted! Jake has been working in the Retention department for a while now and it has gotten worse and worse. They give their employees absurd goals to hit while they talk to upset people all day long and try to commit them to using their cards! Ugh!
The new position he will be in is in Discover Bank. He will be in the Collections/student loans department and I think he'll really enjoy it. In Retention you don't have anything to try and convince people except for the benefits of the card itself. In Collections you are in the driver's seat now because people DO owe you money that the company is entitled to having. My dad and brother-in-law both work in Collections and they really don't mind it.
Jake has been a flex-time worker up to now. Which means his schedule is always planned out for 35 hours a week but he has the option to pick up enough to get to 39. The new job is full-time.
AND! The new job is a pay grade higher than his current job. We don't know if this means he will be making $0.50 more or what but whatever it is it is more! :-)
Thanks to everyone who offered prayers on our behalf. We have felt the love and blessing of so many!
Love, Shayla
