Congratulations Kayden!

For those of you who don't know, my father and three brothers are really into chess. They have all competed and have SEVERAL trophies to show their dedication to the game. They set up their own chess camp and never have problems filling spots. (And making some good money from it!)Jeremy (age 16) and Zachary (age 13) are very involved with sports activities. Zachary plays baseball and basketball and Jeremy is first varsity on the Bingham Cross Country Team. Jeremy teaches chess still, but they mostly focus on their sports.

Kayden (age 10), however, has just started competing on the national level. My mom and Kayden flew to Orlando, Florida last week for a National Chess tournament. We found out on Sunday that he won SECOND PLACE in the tournament! We are so happy for him and to see his hard work paying off. (He practices 6 hours a day on chess - just because he loves it so much and wants to be a Grandmaster.)

Congratulations Kayden! We love you!

Aren't they so cute?
P.S. It's very sad when you have to search the internet to find a picture of your brothers. (I REALLY need a camera). The picture above is courtesy of an article Desert News did on Kayden. I found the photo here.

It is professional. It was in the Deseret News when they did an article on Kayden. There were articles all over the place about him because the Associated Press picked up the story. Pretty crazy! And they are so cute! :-)
