I guess now that Jake's current employers are aware that he will only be working for them for 2 more weeks it is safe to announce it - Jake got a new job! I know, you're probably thinking, "Didn't he just get a new job not too long ago?" And you would be mostly correct. Jake has been working at Discover Card since June 2008. Just a few months ago he switched to Discover Bank which is still the same company but he went from the Retention department of Discover Card to the Student Loans/Collections department of Discover Bank.
But now he is getting an entirely different job with an entirely different company. He will be working for the LDS church in the medical billing and coding department for the Family Support Services. (That is a mouthful!) The pay will be a lot better than his current job, the hours will be a lot better, he will still be able to go to school, he will never have to work on Saturday again, he will never have to worry about the possibility of working on Sunday and the medical benefits will still be really good.
His starting date is February 21st which we are SOOOO grateful for. He was offered the job last Monday and we were really worried that he would start the week of the ultrasound for our baby. Since you have to earn your PTO with a new job we weren't sure how he would be able to swing that, but now we don't have to worry about it because he starts the Monday AFTER the ultrasound. *Phew!*
I am disappointed that he won't be able to come with me to my doctor's appointments anymore but that is just a small price to pay for some truly incredible blessings for our family. We are so grateful for the continual blessings and attentions from our Lord and the ways in which He looks out for us. We are also exceedingly grateful to our wonderful brother-in-law, Matt Murray, for lining us up with this job. We are truly indebted!
