Abrielle-ism

I couldn't figure out how to put this in a Facebook status and still give the background of why this was so funny so... here it is!

Abrielle had drawn a pretty elaborate "Pete the Cat" picture on her little magnetic drawing board. She was quite proud of it and even had the words "Pete the Cat," "love" and "meow" represented with a picture of Pete riding his skateboard.

In the midst of getting ready for bed and after a very traumatic diaper changing episode with Nathan who had a sore bum.... Nathan found the drawing board and promptly erased Abrielle's picture.

Needless to say, Abrielle was pretty distraught about Nathan "strekking" her picture. (Maybe she calls it that because that is the sound it makes when you erase the board). We explained to her that he was very sad and although what he did wasn't nice and it was okay to be upset that her picture was lost, we shouldn't be mean to Nathan. We also tried to explain that he didn't understand that the picture was important to her.

I told her to go with daddy and get a piece of paper and a marker so that she could redo her picture and then Nathan couldn't erase it. She sat down on the couch and carefully reconstructed her picture, with help from me to spell out the words.

When she finished she promptly announced,

"Daddy has made a little girl very happy!"

Oh my sweet girl! :-)

Love, Shayla
